John Carpay is founder and president of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. Mr. Carpay co-authored the Campus Freedom Index, ranking Canadian universities and student unions on how well they carry out their mission of serving as a forum for free speech and open, honest debate. Many fail, unfortunately, but perhaps will improve once they face their own culpability in censorship and bias – or perhaps when enrolment drops as newly-aware students choose to go to more open-minded institutions.
