RKR launches a Parents’ Revolution!

Comments Off on RKR launches a Parents’ Revolution!
May 222011

May 19, 2011 (RKRNews) — Did you hear the rumble? With a subterranean roar, RoadKill Radio set off a Parents’ Revolution Tuesday night.

With guests Helen Ward of Kids First (in the studio) and Joanne McGarry, executive director of the Catholic Civil Rights League (on the telephone from Toronto), Kari Simpson and Terry O’Neill pasted the agenda to erode parental/children’s rights to the wall, using clear, simple logic and facts to overcome lies and propaganda.

Early in the broadcast, Helen Ward told us, ”Putting children in daycare guarantees that they’ll have a higher rate of illness. All the studies of daycare in Quebec show that the quality is mediocre in 73 percent of the cases!”

RKR co-host Kari Simpson cited arrogance within the judiciary: in the Surrey book case, the judge said, in effect: “To heck with the kids, to heck with the parents; the kids have to have this information” – although no research says they need it.

Terry O’Neill added, “We discover striking evidence that children are worse off (in day-care) in the number of dimensions…” He then cited research showing that shows child-care actually hurts kids and parents.

Helen Ward pointed out that parents decide what’s best for their family situation.

Kari Simpson lamented decades of propaganda and marketing by the day-care industry. “We need a bit of a parents’ revolution,” she said.

Joanne McGarry added: “Yeah. We need to reclaim our own turf.”

Helen Ward noted: “In BC they brought in all-day kindergarten; it never was an election promise. It was never mentioned.”

“What’s driving this?” asked Terry O’Neill.

“The OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) produced a state-of-the-art ‘blueprint document’ about daycare: It said ‘we’re in transition from the ideology of the family to a new order of shared responsibility between the state and the parents.’

“This OECD/UNESCO document cites as positive examples of “integrated” daycare systems of Cambodia under Pol Pot, China, the USSR, Vietnam and Brazil under military dictatorship.”

Kari Simpson then quoted from a BC Human Rights Tribunal decision regarding the Abbotsford School District’s refusal to implement the Social Justice curriculum produced under the illegal Corren Agreement:

“The Course involves mature and challenging subject matter,” said the court. “It deals generally with complex issues of social justice, including concepts ranging from hegemony and economic liberalization to speciesism. Sexual orientation and gender identity are among the issues that may be considered within the Course in relation to social justice. The Course involves students examining and challenging their own beliefs, and classroom activities may include discussion and debate of a variety of potentially contentious subjects. The Course also examines issues of conflict between belief systems.”

Who authorized the Ministry of Education to “examine issues of conflict between belief systems? That violates BC’s Schools Act, which mandates “secular” education.

And what the heck is “speciesism”? Wikipedia defines it as the “assigning of different values or rights to beings on the basis of their species membership. The term was created by British psychologist Richard D. Ryder in 1973 to denote a prejudice against non-humans based on physical differences that are given moral value; however, it can also refer to misanthropy -a hatred of all humans because they are human.”

“It (the Social Justice 12 curriculum drafted by homosexual activists Peter and Murray Corren) was designed to attack the beliefs students learned at home,” said Kari. “Who gave the schools the authority to attack the home? This is the hijacking of the family’s role in raising children. It’s time parents said, ‘Enough is enough!’

“There’s something big here that’s got momentum,” added Terry O’Neill. “How do we stop it?”

Helen Ward noted that one action is already being taken by parents “who are leaving the public school system in droves.”

Joanne McGarry said there are two other steps by which parents can reverse the trend: “Participate in the media as much as possible; Try to get involved in the court cases.”

RoadKill Radio already provides a vehicle for parents to act on the second and third of those three revolutionary steps, and supplies helpful information about the first. Stay tuned for more action plans for the Parents’ Revolution from RKR!

NB – RoadKill Radio has still not heard from Bill Good, who was challenged May 11 to debate Kari Simpson on the Burnaby School Board’s new pro-‘gay’ Policy 5.45. Both e-mail and snail-mail were sent, so we expect to hear from Mr. Good any moment now. Stay tuned for further news!

What do gay and lesbian ‘educators’ consider to be appropriate role-playing models for students?

RKR Co-host Kari Simpson read from a classroom exercise prepared in July, 2000 by GALE-BC (Gay And Lesbian Educators of BC – now re-named Pride Education Network). Among the identities to be assumed by the teen-aged students for role-playing in the classroom were:

• 18-year-old white single heterosexual female secretary who is HIV-positive. (It would be extremely rare for a heterosexual female of that age to be HIV-positive. ~ ed.)

• White male bisexual artist (not famous yet) with a male partner. He also has a criminal record for possession of illicit drugs in the past. Currently he is a practicing Christian. (How could a “practicing Christian” be bisexual and a drug user or dealer? ~ ed)

• Asian-Canadian female nurse who is bisexual and in a committed relationship with a woman. They are raising her partner’s four Caucasian children.

• Stay-at-home heterosexual mother of three children with “traditional values”, whose husband has a six-figure income.

• First Nations bisexual female factory worker in a relationship with a white man. She practices traditional Native spirituality.

• Male-to-female transgendered truck driver in a relationship with a woman.

• 16-year-old high school student who is lesbian and is deaf. She uses sign language to communicate, and is a practicing Christian. (Again: how could a “practicing Christian” be a lesbian? ~ ed)

• 20-year-old female Caucasian sex-trade worker who is heterosexual and in a polygamous relationship with a pimp. She is addicted to heroin.

• Separated single gay white male who has custody of his 10-year-old daughter, and who works as an Elementary school teacher.

• White heterosexual Christian male who is the CEO of a multinational corporation. He is married with three children.

• 35-year-old white heterosexual female social worker who is married to a Jamaican-Canadian man. They have two children. She is a practicing Wiccan (witch ~ ed).

• Black heterosexual female lawyer who is the only woman and the only person of colour working in a prominent firm.

• White single lesbian stay-at-home mother of two small children, living on welfare.

• White 60-year-old lesbian who is a general medical practitioner and suffers from epilepsy.

• 50-year-old divorced female teacher who has raised her children, and hasn’t worked for the last 15 years. Her husband has left, and he hid their assets.

• Catholic Italian mother of three children who is a recent immigrant to Canada and does not speak English. She is married and works in an Italian bakery.

• Gay Chinese-Canadian man who is raising a disabled child with his partner.

• Indo-Canadian male psychiatrist who is heterosexual and a practicing Sikh.

• 14-year-old Japanese-Canadian lesbian Buddhist high school student.

• 17-year-old white heterosexual student, who is a sports jock and very popular in the school.

• 25-year-old Black disabled female university student (uses a wheel chair) and is a practicing Anglican.

• Closeted gay male Jewish lawyer who is married with two children. He lives with his wife but has sex with his secret male lover of several years.

• 15-year-old gay male Hispanic high school student who is a practicing Catholic. (Again: a “practicing Catholic” who is ‘gay’? The author of these exercises understands very little of Christian principles. ~ ed)

Sometimes it is fun to add cards with famous participants. Examples:

• k d lang, famous Canadian singer; lesbian, vegetarian, partnered, white.

• Svend Robinson, famous Canadian politician, white gay male, partnered, Ukrainian.

• David Suzuki, environmental activist, heterosexual, married, Japanese-Canadian.

(Note that two of the three “famous Canadians” are homosexual: 66% of the examples recommended are from a proclivity that represents less than 2% of the population. Hmmm! ~ ed)

[Ok folks here’s the deal, we the RKR staffers do have fun, and there is no end to the little email exchanges between us during the week.  Kari sent this out hours before the “Rapture” was to take place.  Those of us who received it enjoyed a good laugh and thought you would too.  We took a vote, vetoed Kari (actually we didn’t tell her!) and now make it available to you!  Have fun!]

Hey! Today’s Vancouver Sun had newsworthy information! I’d heard rumblings, previous to the story “Apocalypse Almost”, but never took the time – until this morning – to learn the details! OK guys, here are my personal top ten reasons why I will not be raptured today.

10. Yes, I am a Christian, but I fear not always a very good one. As you are aware, I like red wine, poker, and perhaps use (ahem!) colourful language (albeit with a California twang) too often. Therefore I fear God is not done with me; I still have way too much to learn. So I will be left behind.

9. Saturday is housecleaning day here on LadyBug Farm. I never go away for extended periods of time without cleaning my house!

8. The horses will still need to eat after my departure/rapture. With only 6 more days of hay left in the barn, and nobody I know who can afford to take on the feed bill due to over-taxation, it would be irresponsible of me to be raptured, under this circumstance.

7. It would be cruel of God to deny me the entertainment of watching Mr Oh-Oh – a.k.a. Jack Layton – trying to morph into some form of statesman. Please God, don’t take me today! I love to laugh! My station on Earth is a front row seat!

6. I need to get a picture of the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup. That will happen shortly, so can we put off the Rapture for a month or two?

5. I have a secret crush on Johnny Depp when he dresses up as Captain Jack Sparrow. I haven’t had time yet to see the latest “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. Heaven just wouldn’t be the same without this memory!

4. My campaign to have Beverley McLachlin—the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada—resign or removed is about to begin. I believe God wants to see Canadians made happy, and will therefore give me the time to make this happen.

3. Harper got his majority. That means I will be here for at least 4 or 5 years! (Depending on whether the Tories honor their “fixed election date” legislation.)

2. I am enjoying the perks of being the family matriarch, now that my four amazing kids are all grown and have money to buy me Mother’s Day gifts, and all the other gifts required by the commercialized gift-giving marketing gurus. Being raptured today would end this, and that just doesn’t seem right.

1. Tuesday I have plans to attend the rally of the Burnaby parents who are currently whipping the illogic out of their local antidemocratic, pro-gay, propaganda-loving School Board Trustees. This is an important issue—and God knows the trustees won’t be raptured!

RoadKill Radio challenges CKNW’s Bill Good to debate pro-‘gay’ education

VANCOUVER, May 11, 2011 (RKRNews)—As debate over a pro-‘gay’ School Board policy draft in the West Coast suburb of Burnaby heats up, so does radio station CKNW’s campaign of misinformation, with talk show hosts Bill Good and Philip Till leading the charge!

Monday morning, Bill Good interviewed one of the concerned parents, James Gray. In the course of the interview, Mr. Good interrupted Mr. Gray and two open-line callers 13 times to interject pro-‘gay’ slogans into the “conversation”. It was very clear that his sentiments are on the side of the ‘gay’ extremists.

The next morning, CKNW news commentator Philip Till delivered a one-sentence summary that lodged his opinion in the same camp: “I don’t care what your religion or culture is, if you have a problem with your School District trying to prevent your child from becoming a homophobic bully, there’s something wrong with YOU!”

RoadKill Radio has invited co-host Kari Simpson and CKNW talk-show host Bill Good to debate the topic.

When RKR’s Ron Gray extended the invitation to debate Bill Good, RKR co-host Kari Simpson immediately agreed and commented, “Great idea! I would love the opportunity to debate and educate Bill Good on the real issues and the broader implications of this political movement. I believe such a debate would be of great public interest, and would provide insight into how ill-informed and bigoted some public commentators are, when it comes to matters involving sexual orientation and the political abuse of the public education system. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mr. Good to back up his bully-pulpit tactics and propagandist rhetoric with proven facts!”

Mrs. Simpson also stated: “As for the venue, RoadKill Radio would be willing to facilitate this debate by having Mr. Good in our studio for a live broadcast, if he has the courage to agree. If this is not acceptable to him, I’d be willing to participate in this debate in any forum, including CKNW’s studio, if they would promise a live, unedited broadcast.”

The invitation has been extended; RoadKill Radio awaits a response from Bill Good.

RoadKill Radio invites BC Civil Liberties & Euthanasia Prevention Coalition to a debate

Alex Schadenberg, Executive Director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, has accepted an invitation to debate physician-assisted suicide; RoadKill Radio will now invite the BC Civil Liberties Association to represent the other side in an on-air debate.

The issue arose after BCCLA launched a lawsuit aimed at striking down a part of Section 241 of the Criminal Code, which makes it illegal to assist or counsel someone to commit suicide. … Full story here.

BC government shows ‘contempt’ for Citizens, says Ted Hewlett of BCPTL.

Taking note of RoadKill Radio’s leadership in exposing the Burnaby School Board’s policy on teaching children that homosexuality is OK—and that the BSB declined to defend its policy on-air—Ted Hewlett, Executive Director of BC Parents and Teachers for Life, noted that the School Board’s contempt for parents parallels the contempt the provincial Ministry of Education has shown for a consortium of six organizations that have asked for the Corren Settlement Agreement to be investigated and overturned. The request, made last July, has not yet had a response from Victoria, Hewlett said.

Pauline Marois’ PQ has more leverage than Gilles Duceppe’s BC in Quebec: Robbins SCE

Speculation that Gilles Duceppe wants to leave Ottawa politics for Quebec City has been scotched by the news that the Parti Quebecois under Pauline Marois has solid control of the separatiste vote in Quebec, said pollster Glenn Robbins.

“She has 93 percent voter approval,” Robbins told RKR.

In a free-wheeling analysis of the federal election on Tuesday night’s RoadKill Radio broadcast, Robbins and co-hosts Kari Simpson and Ron Gray agreed that the NDP surge owed more to the Tories’ and Liberals’ heavy reliance on attack ads than to any rise in popularity of NDP policies, which most Canadians still recognize as economically ruinous. … full story here.

“Parliament has already debated the proposal, with Francine LaLonde’s private member’s bill last year,” Schadenberg reminded RKR listeners. “It was voted down massively.”

He also said the courts are the wrong place to have the issue decided: “Section 241 is designed to protect the vulnerable,” he said. “If Parliament were to amend the law, they could put in place protections against abuse. But if that section of the Criminal Code is struck down by the courts, they’d be left with no protection at all.”

Experience in the Netherlands and Belgium has shown that after assisted suicide was legalized, up to 32 per cent of recorded suicides are non-consensual—that is, the patient did NOT consent to have his or her life ended; and it is also estimated that only half of “assisted suicides” in those countries are reported.

“We need the law against assisted suicide to protect the vulnerable from abuse,” said Shadenberg.

RoadKill Radio host Kari Simpson said the BCCLA will also be invited to debate the issue live on-air, probably in May. Stay tuned for more news.

Shock…gasp! Actually no surprise here; it is amazing what happens when parents find out what is really going on in their schools and informed media (RKR & LifeSite News) start to ask questions!

RoadKill Radio first talked about this issue on our March 15, 2011 broadcast when we first became aware of the Burnaby School District’s proposed ‘homophobia/heterosexism’ policy. Since that time community associations and parents have united their efforts to put a stop to this absurd and dangerous policy.

In a recent correspondence declining our invitation to appear on RKR and explain the District’s reasoning behind this policy, the Burnaby School District states:

Hello Kari:

Thank you for the invitation to be interviewed on RoadKill Radio however we respectfully decline.

As I mentioned on the phone, the Homophobia/Hetrosexism Policy (#5.45) is currently in the policy development process. The Policy Committee of the Board is currently compiling input on the draft policy received to date and will be meeting in late April or early May to review all input and to finalize a recommendation to the board. The draft policy will return to the board for consideration of adoption in late spring. Should the Board adopt the policy; the superintendent’s office will then distribute policy statements, regulations and procedures to schools.

Thank you for your interest,
Gilian Dusting
Acting Communications Manager
Burnaby School District 41

RKR co-host Kari Simpson believes this is a “regressive and dangerous policy, driven by left-wing political activists.” Simpson recalls in 1997 the NDP adopted a similar resolution when they were government. “The NDP were obliterated in the next election, being left with only 2 seats, this is something the elected officials sitting as school trustees for Burnaby should give serious and sober thought to,” says Simpson.

Canadian iconoclast Ezra Levant told RoadKill Radio Tuesday night about his hopes for the latest phase of his career: host of a one-hour public affairs talk show on the new SUN-TV network.

“The theme is one word,” said Levant: “Freedom. It’s about the individual and the State. And we’ll be able to talk to people all across the country.”

The network and Levant’s new show premier April 18. As of this writing, Shaw is the only cable service committed to carrying it.

What will be the tone of Sun News Network? The station’s slogan is “Hard News; Straight Talk.”

“I’ve heard Pierre-Carl Peladeau speak about it several times,” said Levant, “and he uses the word ‘conservative’… It’s also populist, patriotic, irreverent. Look at the talent that will be animating this network: Charles Adler, Brian Lilley, Theo Caldwell… There’s a unity of purpose. I’ve heard the phrase ‘A rebel network’… One of our people said, ‘We already have a CBC… we already have a billion-dollar-a-year, completely unwatchable bland, stale, vanilla network. We don’t want to be another.’

“The biggest problem with Canadian journalism,” Levant continued, “is the sameness of it… remarkably similar, like birds responding to some ultrasound signal, lining up their formation. Once in a while, the mob gets it right; but so often the group-think expresses itself in a liberal way. My favourite example is the way the press is in love with Omar Khadr, with gun control, with global warming—by far the biggest issue on which you have this ‘consensus’ in the media… it’s like a group of high school girls comparing fashions: ‘If you’re not doing what the other Heathers are doing, you’re un-cool.’ That’s the way it is with the old media on global warming.”

“So much of what goes on in media is so boring,” added Kari Simpson. “That’s because it’s all liberal.”

Terry O’Neill, introducing RoadKill Radio’s second guest, political columnist John Twigg – who conceded that he is a member of the NDP – commented on how the “downstream/oldstream” media have usurped election campaigns:
“I remember being part of meetings when the editorial managers said: ‘OK, we can’t let the politicians get away with running the campaign they want; we have to run the questions [we think] the people want…’
