March against Monsanto and for your right to know what you and your family are eating! Joseph Roberts, Senior Editor and Publisher of Common Ground, and activist Christen Traversy join Ron and Kari to talk about the growing mobilization of informed citizens demanding that the Harper government stop jeopardizing the health of Canadians by pandering to their political bankers/backers, and to require the labelling of GMO manufactured foods. The Vancouver March against Monsanto takes place May 25, 2013 at 11:00 am, get there by 10:30 and meet outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. You need to get involved. Your health depends on it!

In the first of two parts, Kari Simpson and Ron Gray speak with Jim Hnatiuk, leader of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada. Mr. Hnatiuk discusses the government's new Office of Religious Freedom, and exposes it as a ploy to further destroy the Canadian culture by devaluing the very values on which this country was built.

Ron Gray weighs in on the ramifications of dynastic politics in Canada. To do so, he needs to look no farther than the United States, which has a long history of such a political phenomenon. Is Canada finally "catching up" to the U.S., or is it a major step backwards?

Sep 182012

This week Kari Simpson and Ron Gray speak with Sal Vetro, the interim president of the Bc First Party. Mr. Vetro describes his party's philosophy of breaking party lines in order to support the best overall candidates who will represent the interests of BC residents, not just special interest groups and corporations. Imagine that: a party for All the People!

The Canadian Medical Association has issued a statement—political, not medical—saying that a baby does not become a human being until after it is born.

Let’s parse that carefully. We’ll start with the organization making the statement: The Canadian Medical Association. Who are they?

Well, they’re actually an imitative branch-plant of the American Medical Association. It’s an example of the “Ooooh! They’ve got one! Let’s us have one, too!” syndrome.

But where did the AMA come from?

From the Rockefeller Foundation’s largesse. Here’s how:

In 1913, when a cabal of American Robber Barons drafted legislation for a graduated income tax—a policy espoused by Karl Marx, interestingly—they included a provision for tax-exempt charitable foundations. By keeping control of the shares they put into the foundations, they were able to exert influence on the stock market without appearing to violate the anti-trust laws. But the shares they retained would benefit from their advance knowledge of what they were going to do with their Foundation shares.

John D. Rockefeller wanted to split the income earned by the Rockefeller Foundation shares between rural education and medicine. Education was no problem: he just gave the money to rural school boards. He hired a guy to disburse the medical funds—but the guy he hired knew nothing about medicine. So he went to Leipzig, in Germany to find out what state-of-the-art medicine was doing there; as it turned out, Leipzig doctors were big on pharmaceuticals and surgery—two topics being taught at only one school in the USA: Johns-Hopkins. So Johns-Hopkins got the Rockefeller cash.

But it didn’t take long for the other universities to discover how to get on the gravy train: their curricula soon included pharmaceuticals and surgery. And that became the model for medical education in the USA.

Ironically, John D’s own personal physician was a homeopath—but homeopathy, like chiropractic, was excluded from the gravy train.

The graduates of the new allopathic medicine schools funded by Rockefeller became the founders of the AMA… and their pattern and policies were copied by the CMA.

So that’s the origin of the organization that now tells us a pre-born baby isn’t human.

I have a question for the CMA: if the parents are both human, the progeny is certainly not a rabbit. If the parents are both human, what IS the baby, if not human?

Am I putting down doctors? Not at all. They’re healers, and their training and compassion are important to us. But I am pointing out that their real expertise is confined to just one part of the healing arts. And within that part, there is a tiny—and, happily, a shrinking—number of doctors who are willing to be killers, instead of healers.

Thus the absurd CMA statement that pre-born babies aren’t human beings is merely a professional group’s attempt to protect a grisly billion-dollar-a year industry that enriches those few.

Parliament will soon decide whether to reconsider the 400-year-old criterion that undergirds that grisly industry. To many politicians, an organization like the CMA represents a convenient clumping together of potential votes; and when the opinion of such a group is falsely presented to them as being all on one side, it may seem to them to have weight… and that needs a counter-weight: your opinion.

This is an urgent time for you to act: visit, call or write your Member of Parliament and urge them to support Motion 312, by MP Stephen Woodworth, on September 21.

Woodworth wants Parliament to create a committee to review Section 223 of the Criminal Code, which says a child becomes a human being when it has completely proceeded, in a living state, from the body of its mother.

Woodworth, quite correctly, argues: “If a child, five minutes before birth, can be defined as ‘not a human being’, then the question is: ‘Who’s next?’”

Don’t put this off: contact your Member of Parliament right away to make sure your opinion is heard. Best is to make an appointment to visit them at their constituency office; next-best is to phone them, and leave a message for them to call you back—then tell them this issue is important to you, and could influence your vote at the next election; If nothing else, write a letter (no postage needed), or send an e-mail. But make sure your MP knows your opinion.

Canadian-born comedian Mort Sahl used to quip, in the ’50s, that “The AMA is opposed to faith healing—or any other cure that is quick and inexpensive.” Don’t let the voice of a lobby group like that influence your Member of Parliament.

Remember: your voice matters.

It seems that while technology continues expanding, real science—the honest exploration and understanding of reality—is increasingly being replaced by the manipulation of ideas for political ends (think “global warming”, and the growing demands for a centralized global power to counteract its alleged threats).

This political manipulation of science is not at all new. It probably began in earnest early in the 20th century with Edward Bernays (Sigmund Freud’s nephew)—a showbiz flack, who applied his uncle’s insights about the irresistible power of subconscious motivation when he worked as a propagandist for U.S. President Woodrow Wilson.

Bernays’ ideas laid the foundation of public relations as a profession. In his 1947 essay The Engineering of Consent, Bernays wrote:
“[T]hose who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons… who pull the wires which control the public mind.”

Franklin Roosevelt further expanded this science of manipulating public opinion to sell his “New Deal”, as did John F. Kennedy, and later Lyndon Johnson for his “Great Society”. Some of Kennedy’s and Johnson’s political ‘technocrats’ were imported into Canada by Pierre Trudeau (in those days, we who worked in the federal government called them “Trudeaucrats”); they used Bernays’ Public Relations techniques to promote Trudeau’s “Just Society”; and the Liberal Party continued to use their techniques to maintain a near-monopoly on political power in Canada—only briefly interrupted by Brian Mulroney’s use of the same techniques on behalf of the Progressive Conservatives—who were neither progressive nor cnservative. The same tactics have been re-introduced, in the name of a “conservatism” that is actually “Liberal Lite”, by Mulroney’s protégé, Stephen Harper.

But—in spite of the power of the unelected, self-appointed media elite—there are signs that all this manipulation of the public psyche may be losing its potency. More and more Canadians—those whose personal philosophy seeks equality of opportunity that would allow achievement based on merit, rather than a socialist equality of outcomes—realize that what has been sold to them under the label “conservative” is really only re-branded liberalism. They’re beginning to realize that they’ve been had—and they yearn for something different.

In the late 1950s, Bernays’ mantle was taken up by a psychologist from Vienna, Dr. Ernest Dichter. As you might expect from a disciple of Freud, Dichter’s interpretations of underlying consumer motivations typically involved sex and/or death. Some in the PR trade back then called him “Dirty Doctor Dichter”. One interpretation of his “Motivational Research” resulted in Ford Motor Company’s greatest blunder: the Edsel.

“But,” some Conservatives ask, “what’s the alternative? Do you want the Liberals back?”

No. Yet while CHP Canada offers a truly conservative alternative—both morally and fiscally conservative—it’s also true that they’re not yet big enough to govern. Canada’s sixth-largest party still has a lot of growing to do; and for that, they’ll need the help of all thinking Canadians.

Today’s Tories take the support of pro-moral Canadians for granted… and that won’t change until those who believe in the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage are willing to discipline these so-called ‘Conservatives’ for their betrayal of the principles for which they were elected.

Stephen Harper’s Conservative Party—Liberal Lite—got into office promising conservatism, but then turned their backs on pre-born children; tried to straddle the fence on same-sex ‘marriage’; broke promises to seniors about taxing income trusts, and to Atlantic Canadians about their Accord with Ottawa—and finally produced the most lavish-spending federal budget in Canada’s history.

Some ‘conservatives’!

They may—they certainly deserve to—become the Edsel of Canadian politics.

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time; but you can’t fool all the people all the time,” said Abraham Lincoln.

I’m Ron Gray, and that’s the way I see it.

Hello, dear visitors. No, we haven’t abandoned you. The RoadKill team has been out and about poking our sticks into old and new hornet nests – all for your enlightenment. We wanted to take a winter vacation, but sex activists, smart meter installers, rogue judges, unethical politicians, Big Pharma, and a host of other special (and kooky) interests kept us busy. We took notes and shot some video, and now RoadKill Radio revs up its lineup for 2012…

We have many new features that we plan to roll out this year. February marks our return with familiar shows…

  • RoadKill Radio News: slightly new name, same socially conscious content hosted by the indefatigable Kari Simpson.
  • The Mark Hasiuk Show: more fast-action journalistic interviews by Vancouver Courier columnist Mark Hasiuk.
  • Culture Guard: reports on new and continued efforts to protect Canada’s besieged culture, featuring Ron Gray and Kari Simpson.
  • Drive for Justice: periodic updates on Kari Simpson’s renewed war against the corruption in Canada’s courts.

And later this year…

  • Family Freedom Fighters: Ron Gray tackles the issues that put our families at risk.
  • Health and Politics: what’s healthy, what’s not, and how politics and law are often damaging our personal health.
  • The National Absurder: news and commentary about the absurd side of Canadian life – as seen by an American, Jim Lawter.

It all starts Tuesday night, Valentine’s Day, February 14, with the return of RoadKill Radio News!

On September 13, 2011, Culture Guard president Kari Simpson attempted to file a complaint with the Vancouver Police Department, asking for an investigation into an apparent fraud being committed by “Out In Schools” (OIS). [Update: Click here to see how the complaint was rejected by the receiving officer!] OIS is an anti-bullying program being used by the school boards of Vancouver, Burnaby and other British Columbia cities and towns. While anti-bullying programs are noble and unfortunately necessary programs, OIS has proven to be seriously flawed.

The OIS workbook and website have Student Resource links in it that lead to websites with “adult content” – porn, that is. Since Culture Guard has exposed this fact, OIS has removed the offending link from its own website and is asking schools to remove the information from their workbooks, and at least one school board has announced that the web links are now being blocked by their school computers, all of which validates Culture Guard‘s initial claims.

Culture Guard further complains that children are being invited to venues outside of their schools where their own parents are banned and where games such as “Lesbian Debauchery” and “The Queeriodic Table” are played amid sexually explicit “art” and advertising for sexual products and services. Culture Guard believes this sexualization of children is wrong, is politically motivated, and has no place in a public school program.

While detractors have been quick to accuse Culture Guard of homophobia and gay-bashing, they are missing the point by a mile. Politics, fraud, and child endangerment are the problems here. The fact that gay activists are using these tactics is incidental. Queerty.com has very clearly identified the political agenda in an article at: http://www.queerty.com/can-we-please-just-start-admitting-that-we-do-actually-want-to-indoctrinate-kids-20110512/

Free speech is fully supported by Culture Guard, but apparently not by many of its detractors. Culture Guard does not judge adults on their behaviour behind closed doors, but it certainly objects to what some adults are doing to our children behind those doors. Culture Guard believes that political indoctrination does not have a place in public schools.

OIS needs to go back to the drawing board. This time, parents should be involved. Schools need effective anti-bullying programs, but not those that exclude all but one one special interest group and have built-in political agendas.

Terry O’Neill, introducing RoadKill Radio’s second guest, political columnist John Twigg–who conceded that he is a member of the NDP–commented on how the “downstream” media have usurped election campaigns:
“I remember being part of meetings when the editorial managers said: ‘OK, we can’t let the politicians get away with running the campaign they want; we have to run the questions [we think] the people want…’
“And I thought: ‘This is their campaign; let’s just cover the campaign!’ But we didn’t.”
When Twigg and O’Neill cited media reports of Stephen Harper’s tight control of his caucus, Kari Simpson interjected: “That just shows [he's] someone who’s savvy how the ‘downstream’ media works… the message Harper’s sending is, ‘I’m not playing that silly game any more’.”
John Twigg said, “I defend him for being a control freak, because he’s got a lot of yahoos and loose cannons in the back benches.”
“The Canadian Alliance defeat was put on the shoulders of Randy White for musing aloud about Supreme Court judges…” noted Terry O’Neill.
“…for saying what the majority of us think,” interjected Kari Simpson.
“Yeah, the mainstream media jump on that stuff,” inserted John Twigg.
“And especially on Harper, because he’s Conservative and the ‘downstream’ media are Liberal,” said Terry O’Neill.
When Twigg introduced the election topic of Canada’s purchase of new fighter jets, Terry O’Neill produced a raft of background information that has yet to appear in the “downstream” media:
“The whole process was started with the Chrétien/Martin [Liberal] government in 1997,” he pointed out. “We’ve already invested millions in the development of this plane… this is the sort of thing you’re not reading in the ‘downstream’ media: the background, the history… we wrote about this back in the days of Report magazine.”
“Canada been participating in Joint Strike Force aircraft development since 1997, when the Department of National Defence signed on to the ‘concept demonstration’ phase with $10 million–you’re not reading this in the ‘downstream’ media. Canada is one of nine countries–Canada, US, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Turkey, Australia–and Michael Ignatieff knows that! Just as Jean Chrétien knew what he was doing when he said that we would cancel the helicopters… putting the lives of our armed forces people at risk, and making us a laughing stock.
“This is my challenge to the ‘downstream’ media: ‘Tell the whole story!… there’s been no mention that there was competitive bidding, between two of the superstars of aircraft development… we entered this 14 years ago; the Liberals started this. It was not an issue them, and it’s not an issue now.
“The Canadian government has invested $168 million to date; and 85 Canadian manufacturers, research labs and universities have received more than $350 million from the development process.”
When John Twigg suggested that a parliamentary committee study, Terry O’Neill commented: “The committees have become politicized; in a minority government, the committees are controlled by the Opposition.
“At times like this, public looks to the media; media have an obligation to tell the whole story, not just the Opposition ‘spin’.”
“There’s a good idea for another show,” said Kari Simpson: “We could call it ‘RoadKill Academy’; Terry could teach the ‘downstream’ media how to do research!”
On the contentious subject of the “Leaders’ Debate”, Terry O’Neill noted: “Elizabeth May called it ‘absolutely undemocratic’ that she’s not in the debate–more undemocratic that putting opponents in prison, torturing them…?”
Interjected John Twigg: “She said she was going to be more positive… then turned around and called Harper ‘hypocritical’. She was being hypocritical about being hypocritical!”
On provincial politics, Twigg noted: “Christy Clark… gave $100,000 to the SPCA to do investigations–the same budget that Campbell cut to zero… They’re spending a million a year on animal welfare, while people are dying on the Downtown East Side.
“The NDP has a leadership contest on, and it’s like nothing’s happening… they’re all up north, and Christy Clark is having a field day.
Terry O’Neill asked, “What happened to the [NDP's] thing that there had to be a female in one of their leadership positions? This is their own rule; if we can’t trust them to follow their own rules–that say of the five major party positions, one has to be female–how can we trust them to run the province?”
John Twigg: “I have a simple solution: they say one of the top three of the party–leader, president & treasurer–must be female; if they added ‘or from a minority’, Mo would qualify.”
Kari Simpson: “Mo could change his sexual identity. There are no rules [about that]!”
[She was referring to several recent RoadKill Radio reports that, in testimony to a Senate Committee, an "expert" from McGill University claimed that pedophilia is "just another sexual orientation, and therefore already protected in law." In a related story, similar "experts" assert in a booklet being distributed by the BC Teachers' Federation that gender identity and expression can be whatever any individual chooses. A Private Members' Bill, C-389, written by homosexual NDP MP Bill Siksay (who is not seeking re-election), passed the House of Commons last month, but died on the Order Paper when his leader, Jack Layton, refused to support the Tory budget.]
John Twigg’s comment on the NDP’s leadership rules: “The rules they have been operating under have been dysfunctional for decades.”

Later in the show John offered these provocative insights: “There’s lots of people around–in the Green Party, and even within the NDP–who want less than zero growth; they actually want to shrink the economy. That’s getting awfully close to Maurice Strong and de-population…
“Well, I worry that there’s a strategy to depopulate the earth; I do.”

8:30 – 9:30 pm: PAUL & ZABETH BAYNE Paul & Zabeth are in-studio to share the story of their on-going struggle with the Ministry of Children & Family, to have their four children returned to them. This is an important story that illustrates why the unbridled power of incompetent social workers must be curtailed.

What do we do when the child abuser is the social worker? What do we do when judges hide behind the law, putting their reputations ahead of a child’s best interests? Why are we as tax-payers paying, in excess of, $6000.00 per month to a foster family, when the children’s grandparents are willing to have them? This could be your family. When are we willing to say “enough is enough!”?

Click here for the background on the Bayne family’s plight; this is an excellent and important blog!
