BC’s Culture Guard terms Drag Queen events ‘child endangerment’

January 17, 2020 (RoadKillRadio News) — Public libraries that display “age-inappropriate material”, including salacious LGBTQ2S+ books or ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ for tots, could lose state funding, and see librarians who break the law fined or even jailed, under legislation proposed by Missouri State Rep. Ben Baker.

Baker’s Parental Oversight of Public Libraries Act was drafted in reaction to ‘Drag Queen Story Hours’ being held across the state.

“In some places—St. Louis, Kansas City and I think St. Jo (Joseph)—they’ve had these drag queen story hours, and that’s something that I take objection to; and I think a lot of parents do,” Baker said. “That’s where, in a public space, our kids could be exposed to something that’s age-inappropriate. That’s what I’m trying to tackle.”

The bill requires each library district to create a five-adult “oversight board” to hold public hearings and decide whether material is age-appropriate. Material deemed inappropriate would be placed in a restricted area, not accessible by minors.

Librarians who broke the law could be fined up to $500, and/or be sentenced to up to a year in jail.

Baker insists the bill is about programming, not books.

“If we were trying to ban books or censor literature, I would kill the bill, myself,” Baker said.

“But some of those [Drag Queen] events are open from ages one to teen years,” Baker said. “I don’t think a 2-, 3-, 4-year-old is prepared to grapple with those ideas; and I don’t think they should be subjected to that just by walking through the library.”

Baker called the story hours a public safety issue, saying they have “drawn child predators, pedophiles” in the past.

“Libraries should be inclusive and safe spaces for all children,” says BC’s Culture Guard executive director Kari Simson, who said she’d like to see similar protective legislation in BC. She criticized “parents stupid enough to expose their children to a deviant agenda that’s designed to entrap them into a ‘progressive’ and dangerous sexualized agenda.”

“That’s child endangerment,” Mrs. Simpson stated.

She continued: “Informed and engaged parents should seek to have the courts jail any librarian responsible for inviting this form of abuse into a public facility.  This legislation needs to be adopted all across North America.”

“I think there are communities where doing a drag queen story time is throwing something in people’s faces, a deliberate provocation,” Crosby Kemper III, Kansas City Public Library’s outgoing executive director, said.

But Cynthia Dudenhoffer, the Missouri Library Association president, said her association is against the bill, decrying it as “censorship.”

Give this Conspiracy a Place to Grow

Dr. Gary North, in his book, Conspiracy, writes that “… [conspiracies] need a field to grow in. The field is a climate of opinion—the same field used by the rulers of any society. Change the ideas, and you change the social order. The real conflict is not over money, or military hardware, or votes. The real conflict is over ideas.” (Emphases in the original)

It’s very common in academic, intellectual and journalistic circles to sneer at “conspiracy theories”; however, as President Roosevelt once said,
“If something happens in politics, you may be sure someone planned it.”

But if the real conflict, as Dr. North writes, is over ideas, how can the climate of public opinion be manipulated to favor the conspirators? Why, it is simplicity itself! Put all the children in government schools; mandate the teaching of a world-view that favors the conspirators. And voila! In a little while (it will seem to be almost overnight), public opinion will be re-shaped. All totalitarians—for example, the Nazis and the Communists—have always realized this: “Give me the children until they are seven and anyone may have them afterwards,” said Francis Xavier in the sixteenth century.

All conspirators need to do, therefore, is capture the teaching profession, and by the next generation they will have the whole society. To capture the teaching profession, you need only to capture the universities. And that is exactly what has happened in North America and Europe.

So how can we free the next generation from this trap of indoctrination?

One answer is: vouchers.

If the government were to issue education vouchers to the parents of elementary and secondary students—for substantially less than the cost per student today—and to the students themselves for post-secondary studies, the free market of ideas would eagerly compete for those funds. And the efficiency of the free market would save taxpayers nearly half the present cost: cut the tax subsidy to all education to only 60% of the present funding level, but allow parental and student choice through vouchers, and we’ll get better education—real education, instead of indoctrination—and at a lower cost.

Not all conspiracies are bad. But the one crippling education today—the conspiracy by radical Left-wing activists to use public education to manipulate public attitudes by indoctrinating children with socialist and hedonist ideas—needs some healthy competition. Education vouchers would provide that competition.

Think of it as a parents’ counter-conspiracy.

Not that you’d ever really seriously consider voting for Elizabeth Whatever and the Greens. But if their socialist economic policy, their destructionist environmental policy and their nanny-statist social policy haven’t been enough to turn you off, you might take a closer look at their aboriginal affairs policy, and consider the implications of the Greens’ decision to refer to our home continent, not as North America, but as “Turtle Island.” Next up: Kwanza as a Statutory Holiday?
