Jim Lawter does a reaction video to “1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick”, the videotaped crime allegedly performed by Luka Magnotta. “Performed” is the key word here, and the reason that an insanity plea cannot be considered for the perpetrator. This segment contains graphic description, but hiding from the truth will assure this happens again and again.

  1. I agree with your assessment and interpretation of this morons video…however, i think since the crime was pre-meditated…he will get convicted of first degree…but not declared a dangerous offender….that designation is brought upon application of the crown based on his prior acts of criminal “dangerousness” so to speak….and I don’t think he has a criminal history in that regard…a few fraud convictions but no assaults on the public.

    • Agreed. And I believe first degree murder can draw a “life” sentence, which means parole in 25 years. Would the previously ignored torture and killing of kittens play a role in sentencing? Could they go after him for that now?

  2. I disagree with the cinema influences as a motive for real murder. We’ve had people who indulged in real pleasure killings throughout time long before the prevalence of violence in the mainstream. I think the majority of people keep their reality button in tact and become quickly repulsed even with the flood of endorphins one gets at a horror movie. This guy clearly lost his reality button. He is the lowest common denominator that I am tired of having to legislate to. He didn’t explore the dark side of humanity, he indulged in it, and that is unacceptable in society. He deserves no better than his victim.
